Media 

Media, which is known as “Everyone's Hometown”, is a great little community. It's downtown (State St) of about 8-10 blocks has a nostalgic feel of yesterday's past.  There are a multitude of restaurants, sport bars, and sandwich shops suited for catering to anyone’s palate. There are also a myriad of small retails shops including vintage finds, an old five and dime called “Deals” which will take you back to the 60s and 70s. There are clothing boutiques, antique shops, candy, stationery and almost anything else you can think of along with a weekly farmers market. Not to mention that there is a trolley that runs its full length and connects to SEPTA. One of the first buildings you will notice is the beautiful Court House. During the week, the surrounding sidewalks are bustling with people on their way to court and government related activities. This downtown area of Media is one of the many things people love about living here because the town is very “walkable” and offers just about everything. Truly a small town that takes you back to the past when Main St. was where neighbors met and talked about life, the universe and everything.

Downtown Media is surrounded by communities in the Rose Tree Media District which include:

Media Borough, Edgemont Township, Middletown Township and Upper Providence. Each community offers different lifestyles and properties.

Transportation

Media is a borough in the county seat of Delaware County, PA. it is located about 13 miles west of Philadelphia. With easy access to I-95 and the Blue Route and the PA Turnpike, getting in and out of Media to other areas is easy. In addition, Media also has train transportation available with an average ride of 20 minutes to downtown Philadelphia. 

Cost of Living

When choosing a new place to live, the cost of living is a significant consideration. The cost of living in Media is lower than the national average and most cities in the state. While some areas can be higher than others on a state and federal level, the overall average housing costs, utilities, grocery items, transportation, health care, and miscellaneous goods and services are less expensive.

Close Proximity to Venues

Tyler Arboretum is within minutes of the community. Tyler Arboretum boasts 650 acres of land along with 17 miles of trails and 10 tree houses. Great for biking, hiking and exercising. Many family fun events are held throughout the year. 

Media is an excellent location! You are a short drive from the King of Prussia Mall, Ridley Creek State Park. Philadelphia International Airport and sports stadiums.  A ride to the “Jersey Shore” is about 90 minutes and the Pocono mountains about two hours. 

Schools

Rose Tree Media is an excellent school district and highly sought out. It has an average teacher/student ratio of 15-1. It is ranked in the 10% of the 660 school districts in PA. It consists of the following schools:

  • Elementary:  Glenwood, Indian Lane, Media, Rose Tree. 

  • Middle School:  Springton Lake 

  • High School:  Penncrest

Things to Do in Media

Dining Under the Stars:  State Street is closed one night a week during the spring and summer months and tables are put on the street and the restaurants serve their patrons outdoors. It is a fun social event that many look forward to!

Ridley Creek State Park 

Rose Tree Park which offers summer outdoor concerts and at Christmas, a Festival of Lights. 

Small Museums:  Roses Valley Museum and the Veterans Museum 

Media Theater which offers live performances. 

Hedgerow Theater 

Linvilla Orchards for fresh produce and seasonal activities.
